F1: Official and Unofficial Launches

Renualt today launched their contender for 2007, the "Striking" (as formula1.com commented) R27. The car itself is a good looking beast when seen in the previously 'leaked' photographs, however when you put on the new livery it takes a turn for the worse...

Now for me the livery, when combined with all of the 'flicks', around the sidepod is a mess and keeping the yellow band around the waist of the car doesn't help it at all! It's almost as horrific as the 1998 Williams.

Talking of Williams, I have found some pictures that are apparently of their 2007 liveried car...

Now I would have thought that as Title Sponsor, the AT&T logos would be more prominent, and the exhaust pipes not so prominent, also the lack of Toyota branding is noticeable. But the livery itself is ok, although I can see James Allen and Martin Brundle still getting confused between the Williams-Toyotas and the BMWs!

F1: New Contender Revealed Early!

Pictures of Renault's new R27 have been leaked onto the Internet, the pics were taken whilst the car was tested by Nelson Piquet Jnr prior to the car's unveiling on the 24th January.


The pictures show a lower nose, smaller side pods and an interesting placement for the rear-view mirrors. The R27 was running in an 'interim' livery before the ING sponsored car is revealed to the public.
